Yummy Homemade Frozen Sports Drink Pops

Yummy Homemade Sports Drink Pops Recipe

Sorry, I forgot to add this recipe with the other two posts related to "Homemade Vitamin Water" and "Homemade Sports Drinks"
These Yummy Homemade Frozen Sports Drink Pops were a HIT!

I'm a huge Popsicle and ice cream lover, I can't help it! I crave an ice cold treat, especially in the heat of summer. A few years ago,  I found myself wanting an ice cold treat in something other than drinking form.  So I head to the freezer to discover all the Homemade Yogurt Pops and Homemade Ice cream gone! I've been absolutely eaten out of house and home, of any frozen treats! It strikes me funny now, that I found myself surprised. You see this is a weekly occurrence.

I began to search for something refreshing. I find a couple of our favorite flavors of "homemade" Sports Drinks and Vitamin Waters. I also found sweet cherries, strawberries, blueberries, mango's and various other fruit in the freezer and refrigerator. (I love to freeze fresh fruit, cut-up  because it always comes in handy).  As I was saying, It strikes me then...  why not make Popsicle out of these items? So I get to work. Thanks to my family eating everything else that day, we've added these to our "must have" frozen treats.

I couldn't believe how much my family and extended family love these. Anytime its hot outside or someone pops in after a workout, they stop to raid our freezer for these treats along with my other homemade treats. I find myself making more of the "Homemade Frozen Sports Drink Pops" year round because they just hit the spot after working out. I knew this was one of my recipes I'd have to share if I ever started a Blog. We hope you and yours enjoy these as much as we all have!

 Vitamin Infused Water Pops
How to:
After you've found some of your favorite flavors of the Homemade Sport Drink Recipe I provided, use your favorite Flavors to make the Popsicle's.
My family's #1 Favorite Sports Drink flavor uses: water or Coconut Water,  Grapefruit juice, Lemon or Lime juice.
#2 Pina Colada Sports Drink flavor uses coconut milk, Water, Pineapple juice and Lime juice .

#1. Get clean, dry Popsicle Molds; add your favorite fruit to mold.
Bought these Popsicle Molds which can also be used to sip out of for my young nephew.
I added  grapes to first mold, Frozen blueberries to second, Frozen chopped strawberries to third,
chopped Kiwi and Mango to 4th mold. I used "Grapefruit Sports Drink" to 1st and 2nd molds and "Pina Colada Sports Drink" to 2nd and 4th molds.
#2. Pour and fill the molds with your favorite flavor of "Homemade Sports Drink" and cover with lids.
Keep in mind, you may need to place a piece of foil over each cup and poke Popsicle stick into center, if using Popsicle sticks, to keep sticks in place.

#3. Place in freezer for a several of hours until solid. If using drinking cups and Popsicle sticks follow the same steps.

#4.Now that they are frozen solid. Remove from freezer.

  • Only remove a couple at a time from freezer.
  • Begin removing the outer molds.
  • You may need to hold briefly in your hands to remove the outer mold. Do not dunk in warm water as it will cause them to melt too fast.

If saving Popsicle's to eat for much later use; follow same instructions, however, place in an airtight Freezer container.

  • If using Sticks and cups, you may remove cup, if you prefer.
  • It's best to wrap each Popsicle with plastic wrap or waxed paper bags. Place in an airtight container and place back into the freezer until ready to eat.

ENJOY!

Homemade Vitamin Water Recipes

Time to Cool Down...

Left to Right: Black Cherry Peach Mango, Strawberry Limeade, Strawberry Lime Mango Spearmint, Watermelon Cucumber Thyme Sports Drink, Raspberry Lemon Lime Grapefruit,  Blackberries Blueberry Ginger Tea Blast, Orange Lemon Lime Mint.
It's that time of year when the heat index is soaring and the humidity feels like a wet blanket. Keeping hydrated can be hard enough but what if you know someone young or old that won't drink or doesn't like to drink plain old tap water? I've got a refreshing solution to share all of you, plus these are considered non-alcoholic "Skinny" drinks.

This is such a refreshing treat and you'd be surprised how easy and delicious making your own blends of Vitamin Water or Sports Water can be. Plus, it gives you control back of the nutritional value and sugar content in your drinks.

Pesky Bugs...

I'm on my way out to see if my garden is doing any better. I'm a bit hesitant to go look. For some reason my plants aren't growing like they have in the years past. A few weeks ago, I was irritated to find plants that looked like lace leaves. This was due to some little creepy crawling or flying pest eating holes in my Napa Cabbages, White headed cabbages, and various other lettuces.

Lessons Learned

I'm so proud! Our son has officially graduated high school!  I was over come by the joy I felt. It was intermingled with a tad bit of relief. I won't lie, I could have done a cartwheel! All too soon he will be moving on to bigger and better things!

Unfortunately, not every parent of a high school senior will be celebrating this year.
